Larry King, host of CNN’s Larry King Live for 25 years, criticized CNN at length in a discussion with RT America on Tuesday.
King, who departed the network in 2012, told Rick Sanchez that, “CNN stopped doing news a long time ago.”
King’s interviewer Sanchez also used to work for the number two cable news network.
King’s attack on their former employer was prompted by Sanchez’s inquiry about antagonism in America today. Both anchors agreed that the political hostility we’re seeing today is reminiscent of the unrest in the 1960s, but that something is different today.
King blames all cable news stations, saying simply, “they don’t do news anymore.”
CNN in particular, King said, played a major role in elevating Donald Trump to frontrunner status in the 2016 election.
Today, King said, CNN, “[does] Trump, FOX is Trump TV and MSNBC is anti-Trump all the time.”
